Morris G. Guin, Certified Louisiana Assessor, has lived in Webster Parish nearly his entire life. He married his high school sweetheart Brenda Guin. Morris went on to serve in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. After returning home from duty in 1969 the Guin family moved to Webster Parish where he and his wife have been proud residents of the Evergreen Community.
Morris began working at Sidewinder; there he gained a hard work ethic and considerable experience with the workplace infrastructure. He later found his calling for public service when he served on the Webster Parish School Board for his district. In 1992 Morris became a Webster Parish Sheriff’s Deputy and Chief Tax Collector for the Sheriff’s Department. He served there honorably for 11 years, and then began to work for the Assessor’s Office as head of the Oil and Gas Department. In 2011, Morris ran unopposed for Webster Parish Assessor.
As Webster Parish Assessor, Mr. Guin is committed to accurately, and fairly assessing all properties within Webster Parish. He promotes an open door policy with all taxpayers and ensures delivery of prompt and courteous service by himself and his staff.
